Taking place for the first time in five years, the biennial Hong Kong Games opened on 21 April with a grand ceremony held at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The tournament is organised by the Sports Commission and involves participants from all 18 districts of Hong Kong.
From now until 9 June, this new edition of the Hong Kong Games comprises athletics, badminton, three-on-three basketball, futsal, swimming, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball tournaments as part of the general competition. It will also host wheelchair three-on-three basketball, boccia, swimming, and table tennis competitions for people with disabilities.
In order to create more enthusiasm around sports, there will also be demonstrations of newly popular sports such as women futsal, breaking, skateboarding, and climbing!
