Embark on a fun-filled cosmic journey at Airside! American artist Ken Kelleher, better known as Anchorball, is collaborating with retail and entertainment destination Airside for an exciting art project. On show from now till 5 May, visitors will find a series of large-scale sculptures, inflatable installations, and digital art displayed around the mall, each boasting Anchorball’s signature characters.
Located near the entrance of Airside and at Airside Garden are two installations of cosmic bunnies, Starhopper and QuantumLeap. In Anchorball’s narrative, the two bunnies have unique powers and are part of team Sky Bunnis, protectors of our galaxy; these larger-than-life space troopers are represented in Anchorball’s adorable style with vibrant colours, youthful doodles, and plenty of details. Particularly, Starhopper is a site-specific creation that incorporates elements of the old Kai Tak Airport in its design. Find out more about the installations here.
At Airside’s atrium, you’ll find four themed zones and the “Monsters in the Universe” exhibition. “Kozmik Playground” features feisty monsters with unique personalities, while over three-metre-tall character inflatables can be found in “Monsters in the Universe.” Move and groove at the “Magical Dance Hall,” before snapping a picture with more at the “Marvellous Selfie Box.”
Browse the Monsters pop-up store for various merchandise and collectibles on offer, and take home Anchorball’s adorable monsters! Find out more here.
