In celebration of Philippines Independence Day, Filipino bar and restaurant Barkada in Central is hosting an eight-day traditional neighbourhood party, the barrio fiesta!
Festivities will kick off on 12 June with a live music performance by Pascual, with happy-hour prices on draught beer available until midnight. On Saturday, 15 June, Barkada will dish out its kamayan brunch menu for the Boodle Fight free-flow karaoke brunch, where the food spread is served on banana leaves. Finally, the Barrio bartender party on 20 June brings together a large community of Filipino bartenders with guest mixologists coming from Mostly Harmless, The Artifact, Call Me Al, and Social Den.
All throughout this whole celebration, you can expect soulful food, from pancit Malabon shrimp and squid noodles, Barkada barbecue chicken, sisig tacos, Filipino pan-fried lasagna, and more. Click here for more information, and here to book a table at the Boodle Fight karaoke brunch.
