From 30 August till 1 September, the sixth edition of Booked: Hong Kong Art Book Fair will be held at Tai Kwun, taking over the entire JC Contemporary building.

Booked rallies publishers, artists, booksellers, and art lovers from Hong Kong and abroad for a celebration of art and publishing. Over 110 exhibitors will be present this year, showcasing their work and participating in event displays as well as a talk and workshop programme. Exhibitors the likes of Printed Matter from New York, The Book Society from Seoul, Hong Kong’s Zinecoop, and other international and local actors will explore the idea of regeneration and rewriting the familiar.

A highlight of the 2024 fair is the Artists’ Book Library special project, Code.Xcess, centred around the questions that artists raise about the circulation of knowledge and how they do that in many playful ways. The project involves calendars, cartoons, dictionaries, and other media displayed on the screens, walls, and windows of the library. Visitors will get the chance to view the installation for the duration of the fair, and then again from 26 September 2024 to 23 February 2025.

Tickets are now available to purchase on Klook, and entry is free for children aged under five years old. Find out more about the event here.
