From now until 23 October, Hong Kong-based contemporary artist Alison Hui is holding her solo exhibition, “City Vein Lines—Sham Shui Po,” at Colour Brown x Phvlo Hatch. Making use of colour, lines, and cloth collage, the series presents to the artist’s re-imagination of Sham Shui Po’s old yet multifaceted cityscape. The series is an extension of the city-inspired artworks the artist created during her stay in Leipzig for the Pilontenkueche Artist Residency. She spent some time exploring Sham Shui Po, an old neighbourhood brimming with unique and historical buildings, Alison created this series of artworks to be themed around the three-story tong lau structures.
Covering the hottest new eats, the best places to play, offbeat takes on local culture, and so much more, Localiiz is every Hongkonger’s destination for how to live a well-rounded life in our vibrant city. Why the strange spelling? Well, Localiiz is designed to be your “local eyes”—and for that, you need two i’s.
