Celebrating the reopening of live theatres in Hong Kong while also doubling as a twenty-fifth anniversary commemoration of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, “Nezha: Untold Solitude” is being staged by the Hong Kong Dance Company between 10 June to 12 June. A retelling of the Chinese legend, Nezha takes a mythical quality in unpacking the solitary self discovery journey of the protagonist. Helmed by artistic director Yang Yuntao and a dynamic team of promising talent, themes of solitude and a search for romance as a cure to loneliness are breathed new life with a modern Hong Kong perspective.
