Running from 1 April to 30 May, “Photographs from the 1950s: Marjorie Doggett's Singapore & Lee Fook Chee’s Hong Kong” is an upcoming exhibition showcasing works by Marjorie Doggett, a pioneer female photographer who captured cityscapes and buildings of Singapore with photos taken between 1954 and 1957, and works from Lee Fook Chee, a self-taught photographer documenting streetscapes and automotive scenes of Hong Kong during the same period. The “time capsule” exhibition showcases the parallel timeline of 1950s Hong Kong and Singapore, and the rich shared history between the two cities.
Sino Group, together with the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, and supported by the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Hong Kong, jointly present the exhibition curated by the Photographic Heritage Foundation, reflecting Sino Group’s commitment to local community and legacy.
These parties collaborated to celebrate the shared history and heritage between Hong Kong and Singapore, present an enriching and educational activity for the community to enjoy, and provide an opportunity to learn about bygone eras, as well as marking Sino Group’s fiftieth anniversary in 2021.
