Premiere Performances is bringing its signature Recital Series back to Hong Kong concert halls! The performing arts group has invited Dan Zhu, one of the leading musicians of his generation, to collaborate with two well-known Hong Kong-based pianists, Warren Lee and Vanessa Wong Wai Yin, to perform two ever-loved Beethoven sonatas, including the “Spring Sonata” and the poetic “F.A.E Sonata” written by Schumann, Dietrich, and Brahms.
Currently based in Slovenia, Dan likes to give himself challenge after challenge. After being the first violinist in history to perform in Antarctica, Zhu has agreed to undergo the 14-day quarantine for the recital, becoming the first international violinist to perform a recital in Hong Kong after the long “pause” due to the pandemic. Dan Zhu played in Premiere Performances’ chamber music festival in 2010.
Covering the hottest new eats, the best places to play, offbeat takes on local culture, and so much more, Localiiz is every Hongkonger’s destination for how to live a well-rounded life in our vibrant city. Why the strange spelling? Well, Localiiz is designed to be your “local eyes”—and for that, you need two i’s.
