Kerry Hotel’s rooftop cocktail bar Red Sugar presents a month-long Finnish midsummer celebration in collaboration with the Nordic spirit supplier Aqua Nordics, the national authority on tourism VisitFinland, and the flag carrier of Finland Finnair. The restaurant’s experienced mixologist Simon Kong and culinary team bring a Finnish festivity to locals who long for a trip to the Nordic countries, and Finns who cannot fly back home during this special time.
Midsummer (“Juhannus”) is an important festival in Finland to celebrate the summer solstice and good harvest. Traditionally, bonfires will be lit by the riverside during the white night, at a time where family and friends gather to share the joy over drinks and barbecue delights. This year, the Midsummer falls on 24 June in northern Europe, and Red Sugar is joining in the celebrations with an array of specially designed cocktails curated by Head Bartender, Simon Kong, complemented by Nordic inspired bar snacks from the Midsummer day until 24 July 2021.
Furthermore, every Saturday and Sunday from 3 pm to 7 pm, guests who order any food or drinks from the promotional menu can enjoy a complimentary beginner’s workshop of Mölkky, a Finnish lawn bowling game, at Red Sugar outdoor terrace coached by the Hong Kong Mölkky Association. Limited spots will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Guests may also enjoy souvenirs sponsored by Finnair, Food from Finland and Hong Kong Mölkky Association throughout the promotion period, while stocks last.
