Mark your calendars—the annual celebration of jazz music is returning to West Kowloon! For its 2024 edition, the Freespace Jazz Fest’s stellar four-day line-up features both acclaimed international artists and rising local talent, promising a dynamic programme that will captivate music enthusiasts from all walks of life.

Kicking off the festival on 24 October is Hong Kong’s “Godfather of Jazz,” pianist Ted Lo, who will be joined by young local artists Nelson Fung and Dean Li for a cross-generational performance. The following night, audiences will be treated to two headlining acts, showcasing the contrasting styles of the Ariel Bart trio and the Rémi Panossian trio and taking listeners on a contemporary jazz journey. Another must-see act is the Joey Alexander trio, featuring the Indonesian jazz prodigy whose talents have captivated audiences worldwide.

On Freespace Jazz Fest’s closing day, the festival is headlined by two true legends of the genre. First, Grammy-winning composer and percussionist Antonio Sánchez will perform his acclaimed Birdman Live score alongside the critically-acclaimed film. Then, the incomparable Herbie Hancock will take the stage, bringing his timeless jazz brilliance to Hong Kong alongside a stellar ensemble.

In addition to these ticketed headliners, the Freespace Jazz Fest will also offer a vibrant free outdoor programme, including world music performances, hands-on workshops, and a gourmet food and beverage market. Register here.
