The Hong Kong China International Tattoo Exhibition is returning this year, a three-day event that gathers top tattoo artists from around the world. The exhibition will feature the anticipated tattoo competition, divided into three categories: black and white, colour, and schoolwork.
One of the event’s highlights is the “3 No” cross-border artists painting and refitting collaborative project, which has invited over 1,000 artists from around the world to collectively create over 400 skull mask installations. Inspired by the three wise monkeys of Buddhism, Confucius’s Analects, and calligraphic masterpieces, the artists have painted and transformed skulls, exploring the theme of “Three Don’ts: don’t see, don’t hear, don’t speak.”
Also a part of the event is a tattoo-themed posters exhibition, a collaboration between the global artist agency 6VI and over 100 international artists. The posters on show were created around the themes of the tattoo industry, Hong Kong culture, and skulls. This initiative explores drawing and creativity beyond body ink.
The Hong Kong China International Tattoo Exhibition 2024 is also introducing a limited-edition commemorative t-shirt, featuring a design by the special guest judge of the tattoo competition, Serbian tattoo artist Marko Stamenkovic. Get your tickets here.
