In light of the seventy-fourth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, stunning fireworks will once again illuminate the city’s night sky.

The National Day fireworks display will be held above Victoria Harbour on 1 October, commencing at 9 pm for a stunning 23-minute extravaganza. Comprised of eight scenes, the spectacle is set on bringing dynamism and revitalisation to Hong Kong’s nightlife, wishing prosperity for all businesses, as well as togetherness and a brighter future for the city.

Onlookers will get to admire highlights of the show in its beginning and concluding acts: “Together on National Day with Jubilant Fireworks,” “Hello Hong Kong, Happy Hong Kong,” and “Rooted in China, Advancing as One.” Expect magnificent flourishes of different colour combinations painting the skyline, accompanied by fanciful elements such as red hearts, peonies, smiling faces, the iconic Hong Kong bauhinia, and red five-pointed stars that represent China’s flag.

In the last scene, “Prospering Nation, Blessings for Hong Kong,” the display will reach its climax in a wave of alternating red and sparkling fireworks that resemble a crown and palm brocades. Those seeking the full sensational experience can also tune into Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4 at FM 97.6 to 98.9 for synchronised music.

The display is best seen from both sides of Victoria Harbour, with vantage points available in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mid-Levels, Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and the Hung Hom Bypass.
