Negroni Week, organised by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, is back in Hong Kong from 16 to 22 September! The 2024 edition marks 12 years of honouring the beloved Negroni cocktail while supporting Slow Food’s sustainable food mission. Under the theme “No Negroni Without Campari,” over 100 bars and restaurants across the city will be mixing up the iconic drink—crafted from Campari, gin, and vermouth—while contributing to a good cause.
Honky Tonks Tavern will kick off Negroni Week in Hong Kong with a movie-themed opening party featuring cinematic bites and special guest shifts from Artifact, The Greendoor Bar, and Dead Poets’ mixologists. Shady Acres joins the festivities with two special Foosball for a Cause nights, complete with four Campari cocktails, foosball, air hockey, and more. Alibi–Wine Dine Be Social will be taken over by Anthony Luis from Carrots in Jakarta. Kinsman will be all about old-school Hong Kong for its Wong Kar-wai-inspired Vintage Hong Kong Night evening. The weekend will kick off on Friday at Sophia Loren Rooftop to celebrate Sophia Loren’s ninetieth birthday bash. To wrap up the week, a hospitality industry volunteer session to prep meal boxes for the More Good charity is opened to join on Sunday.
Non-content with celebrating Negronis for one week only, Singular Concepts is extending the festivities. Singular City Drink: A Sip Around The World with Campari, on until 30 September, is a month-long degustation for cocktail aficionados who can indulge in unique Negronis at venues like Ella, Tell Camellia, Barcode, Kinsman, The Daily Tot, Yurakucho, and Barkada by using an exclusive cocktail passport to raise funds for UNICEF Hong Kong.
The Negroni Explorer allows you to relish in five distinct Negronis, while the Negroni Voyage lets you delight in seven tipples. Both passports also give access to a welcome Campari drink at The Daily Tot, exclusive goodies from Campari and Singular Concepts, and a complimentary drink at Wav Rooftop upon completion!
In venues all around town, mixologists will be serving classic and reinvented Negronis all week long. Qura Bar will feature Negroni variations, including L’Insolito, with a verjus foam; Lost In Italy, utilising only the finest ingredients sourced from Italy; and Like Camillo Used to Drink, which offers a nostalgic recipe featuring a vintage 1960s Campari.
Bar Leone, Asia’s Best Bar for 2024, is hosting an exclusive pop-up event with Mr Porter, putting a stylish twist on classic Negroni cocktails. Enjoy a selection of four unique Negronis inspired by different fashion personalities: The Maverick, a blend featuring tequila reposado and a coconut oil foam; The Aesthete, with rum and PX sherry, reminiscent of a classic Negroni; The Dandy, with gin and yuzu; and The Sublime, enhanced with a coffee kick.
