An exciting exploration of Hong Kong’s architectural landscape awaits at the inaugural Open House Hong Kong, taking place over the weekends of 21 to 22 September and 28 to 29 September. As it launches in 2024, Open House Hong Kong will join a global network of Open House festivals around the world, from Athens to Zurich. In partnership with Design Trust, this festival invites the public to visit approximately 50 unique Hong Kong sites.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours of spaces that are typically off-limits, including heritage sites, corporate skyscrapers, museums, and essential infrastructure. The festival will also host expert-led discussions on topics like design, history, heritage, liveability, and sustainability.

Open House Hong Kong showcases the rich cultural and architectural tapestry of the region. The festival will feature everything from traditional architecture that embodies local materials and customs to stunning nineteenth-century colonial structures and innovative contemporary designs.

This festival is not just about exploration; it also serves an educational purpose. For architecture students and enthusiasts, Open House Hong Kong offers an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, and gain insights into the future of architecture. Meanwhile, the general public can develop a deeper understanding of the intricacies of design and construction, as well as the vital role architecture plays in shaping a city’s identity.

Stay tuned here for details.
