Held in collaboration with San Francisco-based artist Koak, Perrotin presents “The Driver,” an exhibition of new paintings and sculptures comprising her first solo presentation in Hong Kong. Known for utilising familiar human figures to craft emotionally vibrant portraits of subjects that carry with them an inner charm and soul, her efforts are portrayed by her uncomplicated strokes and craftsmanship. Influenced by comic illustrations, Koak imbues her chosen mediums with mediations of gender hierarchies, as well as reinterpretations of ideas on identity and human nature.
