The annual Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon is back, and this year, it comprises a sports-themed carnival as well as the usual cycling races

The star attractions of the Hong Kong Cyclothon are the two main cycling routes. Both have been revamped to provide an even more scenic experience for participants, passing near some of Hong Kong’s iconic landmarks. The 50-kilometre route will take cyclists through six districts, and for the first time, the route will include the Sha Tin Heights Tunnel, adding an extra challenge for seasoned cyclists. The 32-kilometre route has also been expanded, allowing riders to soak in the stunning harbour views from the Ting Kau Bridge.

Both routes will end at the West Kowloon Cultural District, where cyclists can enjoy the festivities. Cyclists and the general public can unwind at the vibrant Cyclothon Carnival. Expect Instagram-worthy installations, delicious local delicacies, and refreshing drinks as you browse the cycling-themed market or head over to the fitness workshops.

For families, the return of the one-kilometre Family Fun Ride is a must-try. Kids aged six and above can cycle alongside their parents on a segment of Salisbury Road, usually off-limits to cyclists. For sports enthusiasts, top cyclists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will compete in Sun Hung Kai Properties Men’s Open and Women’s Open. Donations as well as proceeds from the Family Fun Ride will go to the Community Chest of Hong Kong.

Register for the Cyclothon here and find out more about the charity event here.
