Tango in the Night

Celebrate the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong at its twenty-fifth anniversary concert, Tango in the Night, on 30 September. Held at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall, this tango night celebration is set to be filled with the passionate rhythms and melodies of the genre.

Featuring world-class tango masters, the concert will showcase the talents of the Binelli-Ferman duo—Daniel Binelli on bandoneon and Polly Ferman on piano—alongside renowned tango dancers Claudio Hoffman and Cinzia Lombardi. Under the baton of conductor Vahan Mardirossian, the performance will transport audiences to the nightlife of Buenos Aires.

The music programme spans over a century, starting with Villoldo’s lively El Choclo and continuing through iconic works from tango legends such as Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla. Highlights include Gardel’s nostalgic Por Una Cabeza and Piazzolla’s evocative Libertango.
