The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF) today announced the full schedule ofevents to take place in Hong Kong this summer for The 2020 Sovereign Asian Art Prize,including a six-week long finalists exhibition, rich educational programme, and online auction,through which all artworks will be sold for charity.
The Finalists Exhibition – a diverse presentation of works by 31 shortlisted artists from 18countries and territories across Asia-Pacific – will be presented at K11 HACC, a new multi-purpose art space in K11 ATELIER King’s Road in Quarry Bay from 6 June – 19 July 2020.Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to cast a vote for their favourite artist to win a PublicVote Prize of US$1,000 (votes will also be accepted via web gallery and Facebook page,voting closes 12 July). A virtual tour of the exhibition will be available online.
SAF will present an educational programme alongside the exhibition, in partnership with K11Art Foundation (KAF). Self-guided learning kits and an interactive education corner will beoffered to visitors of all ages, encouraging critical thinking and enjoyment through an art-basedlearning experience. Self-guided resources will also be available for download on KAF andSAF’s websites.
The artworks will be available for bidding via online auction commencing 3 June atwww.saapauction.com, with proceeds to be split evenly between the artists and charitableprogrammes for disadvantaged children in Asia.
