Something exciting is coming to Freespace! As the brainchild of two giants in the musical industry, The Book of Longing is a performative collaboration between renowned contemporary composer Philip Glass and Canadian singer-songwriter-poet Leonard Cohen. Glass was inspired by Cohen’s work to compose an eponymous, lengthy score of music, image, and poetry based on Cohen’s verses.
Premiering for the first time in Hong Kong, Glass and Cohen’s emotive and dynamic score is brought to life by local director Mo Lai Yan-Chi and conductor Vivian Ip through an interlocking dialogue between classical music and theatre.
