Rodgers & Hammerstein’s acclaimed Broadway musical The Sound of Music is coming to Hong Kong! The much-loved production will be performed at Xiqu Centre from 15 April to 9 June with matinee and night performances.
For those unfamiliar with The Sound of Music, here’s a brief synopsis. Set in 1930s Austria, governess Maria is employed by the widowed Captain Von Trapp to look after the seven Von Trapp children. Through a fun and engaging curriculum taught through iconic musical numbers such as “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favourite Things,” and—of course—“The Sound of Music,” Maria leads the Von Trapp children as well as the audience across the Austrian mountains right before the outbreak of World War II. It is an enchanting and heartwarming story that’s unmissable for the whole family.
The Sound of Music runs for approximately two hours and 45 minutes with a 20-minute interval. Learn more about the musical and purchase tickets here.
