West Kowloon Cultural District is launching a brand-new annual family event this month. WestK Fun Fest is a participatory performing arts festival taking place across various venues within the Cultural District, including Xiqu Centre, Art Park, and Freespace. Over the course of three weeks, families are treated to a varied programme of free and ticketed events led by local and international artists and art collectives.
Most exciting is the “Ephemeral” large-scale art installation of giant rainbow-hued bubbles on the West Kowloon waterfront promenade, along with pop-up performances. Little ones can enjoy the multimedia children’s theatre “Zoom,” as well as an interactive play space complete with light and sound effects, storytelling, and Cantonese opera cultural workshops.
