Learn the skills of traditional birdcage-making and repurpose them to make your own one-of-a-kind bamboo photo frame! Shining the spotlight on the dying craft of birdcage making, HKCRAFTS is collaborating with local artist GoHung to host two three-hour “birdcage making x photo frame” workshops on 8 and 22 August respectively.
Having done a 3-months Artist-in-Residency in 2019 with Chan Lok-choi, the last local birdcage maker in Hong Kong, GoHung will be adapting the intricate manoeuvring of bamboo pieces and in traditional birdcage-making to create bamboo photo frames!
Click here to learn more and register for the workshop! All of the proceeds from the event will go towards funding HKCRAFT‘s pro-bono community workshops and the inaugural HKCRAFTS Festival in 2023.
