As part of the special summer exhibition held by the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association, Lucie Chang Fine Arts presents “The Sky Beyond the Clouds” solo exhibition by local artist Jessie Siu, on view from now until 11 September.
“The Sky Beyond the Clouds” is inspired by Zen Master Zhongfeng's “Three Periods Incessant Recitation.” According to Buddhism, the nature of the mind is like the clear blue sky, limitless and infinite. However, it is darkened by clouds of ignorance. Blown by the wild wind of toxic emotions, the sky is scattered with dark clouds blocking the bright light of our inner wisdom. Through her artwork, Jessie examines why our mind is clouded and explores ways to clear away those clouds of greed, anger, and, selfishness to uncover a state of perfection that is, and always has been, our own true nature.
To complement the exhibition, there is also a slew of fun activities lined up, including a sutra sharing session, docent tours by the artist herself, and a morning yoga workshop with Flora Yu. A portion of the sales for the workshops will be donated to the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC).
