Business of Design Week (BODW) Summit is making an exciting comeback this year as Asia’s premier annual event on design, innovation, and brands, gathering top policymakers, entrepreneurs, and creative leaders from all over the world at Freespace in the West Kowloon Cultural District from 29 November to 1 December.
Hosted every year since 2002 by the Hong Kong Design Centre, BODW 2023 Summit has its sights set on raising awareness about the importance of design and innovation, and motivating its global audience to discover new business prospects.
This year, BODW is partnering up with the Netherlands and CreativeNL—the global pioneer in circular design—under the theme “Game Changers,” setting up connections between Hong Kong and Dutch businesses, designers, and academic institutions in order to drive innovation for a sustainable future.
As well as guests from the Netherlands, over 50 world-renowned experts from Mainland China, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom, and more are brought together to deliver insightful discourse centred around this year’s focal subjects: urban planning and new urban models; transformative brands and consumers’ experience; AI, technology, and future trends.
Speakers include the acclaimed Ben van Berkel, founder and principal architect of UNStudio; Winy Maas, founding partner and principal architect of MVRDV; Francine Houben, creative director and architect at Mecanoo; Simon Mitchell, co-founder of Sybarite; Jiang Qiong-er, co-founder of Shang Xia; Dr Wang Jian, founder of Alibaba Cloud; Kenya Hara, president and chief executive designer of Nippon Design Center, Inc.; and many others.
BODW 2023 Summit will be held at Freespace in the West Kowloon Cultural District, which is a five-minute walk from Kowloon MTR Station, placing countless accessible networking opportunities at the fingertips of prospective business owners and designers alike. Alternatively, for guests arriving by car, hourly parking is offered at M+ Car Park, Art Park Car Park, Hong Kong Palace Museum Car Park, and West Gate Open Car Park.
