We have all finished a bottle or tub of beauty product during our daily skincare routine and find ourselves left with an empty container and no easy way to dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly way. Sure, some cosmetic brands offer recycling programmes for their own product packaging, but these are never quite convenient enough. Well, collect empties no more—introducing “The Beauty in Recycling,” the joint beauty brand recycling programme organised by Carbon Wallet, the city’s green living rewards platform, that aims to make recycling a part of your skincare routine!
Carbon Wallet is known for encouraging greener ways of living in an easy and light-hearted manner. Its app and CW Points rewards system are valid for use in this recycling campaign! Whether you’re new to Carbon Wallet or have already been saving up CW Points, “The Beauty in Recycling” campaign offers an easy way for you to stock up on rewards.
CW Points can be earned by simply adopting a greener lifestyle, such as travelling on the MTR, for example, supporting green shopping and dining outlets, and recycling. Rewards redeemed on the Carbon Wallet platform also keeps the environment in mind to complete a green cycle, such as free MTR rides and coupons for use at certified green stores.
Collaborating with six popular beauty brands—Fresh, L’Occitane, The Body Shop, Factiv, Evolcare, and Melvita—shoppers will find designated Carbon Wallet recycling boxes in stores from 20 April to 30 June. The brands will collect empties of their own products, while selected Melvita stores will accept empties from all brands between 16 and 30 June—an extra step that makes recycling even more accessible to everyone.
To take part in the campaign, simply drop your empties into these recycling boxes and record your deposits on the Carbon Wallet app. Scan the QR code printed on each recycling box and you will instantly receive 100 CW points to spend on rewards! Additional points are available depending on the type and amount of empties you drop into the box. The more the better!
