Fans of the late George Michael will have the chance to see the pop legend's private art collection go under the hammer at an exclusive Christie's auction from March 8.

The British singer, songwriter, and member of 80s pop duo Wham!, is remembered as an icon of the imaginative spirit of the 1980s and 1990s, and nurtured many friendships with contemporary artists throughout his 35-year career, including Damien First, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, and Marc Quinn. Michael's private art collection represents his dedication to cutting-edge creativity in every field and his deep admiration for those who, like himself, rose to prominence by challenging the status quo.

The private collection features more than 200 pieces of artwork which will be offered on an online sale from 8 to 15 March, and an evening live auction Christie's on March 14. All proceeds will be go towards supporting philanthropic work, which was hugely important for George Michael during his lifetime and something he wanted to continue after his passing.
