We’re back again this week to help you navigate the Causeway Bay area for dog-friendly cafés and restaurants! This bustling area—consisting of Causeway Bay, Tin Hau, and Tai Hang—is a vibrant melting pot of cuisines of varying price ranges, so to keep things easy for you as you explore the area with your pups in tow, we highlight 10 of our favourites for you and your doggos to enjoy.
These guys specialise in unique coffee drinks! Just one look at their Instagram account will have you craving one of their coffees—hot or cold. You can grab one of their fizzy Cascara sparkles ($58), espresso lime tonics ($58), or a double grapefruit soda ($65) if you’re looking for an iced coffee with a twist. We recommend getting their peanut butter mousse & chocolate cream cookie sandwich ($38) and dunking it in a hot coffee for a cheeky afternoon treat. Bring your own cup and get a $5 discount!

If we could speak to Alonzo, we would tell him a heartfelt “thank you” for making his establishment pet-friendly! This modern trattoria only recently opened up in Tai Hang but has speedily charmed the neighbourhood with its home-cooked cuisine. Order their ever-so-popular breakfast carbonara ($148), served with a runny fried egg on top, and a side of their Alonzo lemonade ($28)—alcoholic versions available upon request. Dogs are welcome to dine with you and are even given a bowl of water to hydrate during your stay.

Straying away from our usual selection, Bing Kee Cha Dong (炳記茶檔) is a local favourite dai pai dong (大排檔; open-air food stall). Be sure to arrive early for one of their silky-smooth Hong Kong-style milk teas ($16) and a thick-cut toast with peanut butter & condensed milk ($11). With prices like these, it’s a bargain regardless of whether you’re dining in for breakfast or an afternoon tea. They also offer pork chop toast and various noodle-based dishes, which seem to go down a treat. Although the menus are in Chinese, the staff is usually happy to help you place your order—just don’t go down there after 3 pm or on a Monday as they will be shut!
Bing Kee Cha Dong (炳記茶檔), 5 Shepherd Street, Tai Hang | (+852) 2577 3117
This retro-inspired café is a great spot to bring tourists as it is modelled after a traditional bing sutt (冰室; “ice room”). Such Hong Kong-style canteens were popular in the 1950s and 1960s as the go-to place for all of your favourite Hong Kong dishes. There are some dishes with a Western twist, too, such as chicken pie in pea soup ($36) or the inventive pineapple & ham hotcakes ($58) for a spot of afternoon tea. The outdoor terrace space welcomes dogs and even has a ping pong table for patrons to play on in-between meals!

We love a good coffee shop, even more so when they welcome our four-legged friends in with us! Chillax is just the spot for you if you are looking to slow things down and just relax with your pups for a quiet, lazy afternoon. Kick back on their bean bag chairs whilst you enjoy one of their speciality coffees and perhaps an afternoon treat. Grab a slice of their hojicha cheesecake ($48) and perhaps pair the sweet treat with a cup of calming chamomile tea ($32) or a toasty Oxford English breakfast tea ($32).

We love that both of Fineprint’s locations in Tai Hang and Central are dog-friendly! These guys are more than a café, even though their coffees are pretty good—award-winning good, to be exact. They are also known for their baked items by day and cocktails by night—winning multiple accolades for their cocktails, too! We especially love their sourdough bread ($85) topped with homemade ricotta, blueberries, honey, and thyme. Their sea salt chocolate chip cookie ($30) is also to die for and pairs well with their artisan coffees, but if you fancy a stiff cocktail, order their Negroni ($90), which won their head bartender, James Barker, his ticket to Asia.

Little Bao doesn’t need much introduction. This pet-friendly restaurant in Fashion Walk offers an experimental menu to match with the fun vibes in-house, serving up small sharing plates with Asian influences. It first started with the original braised pork belly bao ($88), but the menu has since expanded to include dessert bao too, such as their ice cream bao ($38). They also offer up some scrumptious sides to go with your mains such as their truffle fries ($98), which are, of course, no ordinary truffle fries, as they are served up with slow-braised shiitake tempeh, truffle mayo, sweet pickled daikon. Dogs are welcome to dine outside with you on their patio.

Photographers used to flock to 16 Sun Chun Street for the building’s unique façade, but nowadays, people flock to this location to have a drink inside Sonne Cad, a coffee studio and lab! Sonne Cad opened its doors to the public earlier this year and specialise in serving up single-origin coffee beans from around the world. It’s a great little spot for those who appreciate a good brew and want to learn about their favourite beans, tasting notes, and their origins, all with your pet in tow.

SuperHooman serves up coffees by day and cocktails by night! Boasting a rather unique design, the shopfront is made up of huge metallic doors that span from floor to ceiling, creating a modern space that offers a nice, open area for you to enjoy brunch with your pooch whilst the rest of the world goes by about their business. Equally as impressive are their menus, ranging from mouth-watering brunches to all-day specials and dinner menus with creative evening cocktails. Try their baby pancakes & ice cream ($98)—rounded blobs of pancakes that are served with vanilla ice cream, mixed fruits, and a hawthorn strawberry sauce. Definitely a must-visit!
SuperHooman, 16 Tsing Fung Street, Tin Hau
This coffee shop offers a nice cosy getaway from the chaos of Causeway Bay. Sit on their converted indoor balcony overlooking Lockhart Road whilst you enjoy your meal and drinks inside with your pups. Their East-meets-West fusion menu mostly comprises of pasta, rice, and noodle dishes, and there is a molten chocolate lava cake on the dessert menu for afters. Lounge on their woven indoor swing with your pup and enjoy complimentary treats from Pet Pat Foods.
