As the 20th anniversary of McCafé draws near, the coffee shop arm of McDonald’s has once again partnered up with Tsit Wing to introduce three new drinks, namely
Cheese Grape Tea,
Cheese Pineapple Tea, and
Cheese Okinawa Brown Sugar Bubble Tea. For those feeling a little out of the loop on this beverage craze, cheese tea, a next-level version of bubble tea, has captured the attention of Asia’s taste buds over the past year and its reign has yet to diminish. Cheese tea is really just cold-brew tea topped with a foamy layer of milk, whipped together with cream cheese and sprinkled with salt. As salt is known to be an enhancing ingredient, it forms a unique flavour combination.
McCafé previously launched six
Cheese Series beverages at a limited-time pop-up store in Hysan Place, but now, with an extended collection of nine different cheese-capped drinks to choose from, this is a definite sign for those who have yet to venture into the realm of cheese tea to take their first step.
To promote their new launch, customers who have the McDonald’s app on their phone can redeem a large-size
Cheese Series drink using a coupon within the app. With the sheer volume of McCafé’s outlets available in Hong Kong, there’s most likely a free cheese tea just around the corner from you.
And the promotional offers don’t stop there; from September 2 onwards, a buy-one-get-one promotion will be offered every Monday from 3pm onwards with the purchase of any large-size
Cheese Series drink. And for those bubble tea fanatics who just cannot live without their tapioca pearls, you can add some to any drink for an additional $4 during the promotional period. We’d say the best way to take full advantage of this offer is to schedule a bubble tea and catch-up date with your friends after school or work.
