If you are looking for an exhibition with an avant-garde twist, or missed Art Basel and Art Central earlier this year, why not check out the Digital Art Fair this October? Showcasing a collection of the world’s most cutting-edge and fascinating digital art and NFTs, this event is perfect for art collectors looking for inspiration, artists looking to push the boundaries of creativity, and art lovers looking for an escape. To help you navigate around the venue and easily take in the wonders of art and technology, we have curated a handy guide to the Digital Art Fair 2023.
The Digital Art Fair will be held at the Kunsthalle space in K11 Musea in Tsim Sha Tsui on 20 and 21 October for those with VIP access, and on 22 and 23 October for general admissions. The event features both established and up-and-coming artists of the digital art scene. Limited to one entry, general admission tickets start at $380, and concession tickets cost $150. For those that prefer an enhanced experience, VIP passes for multiple entries a day or throughout the duration of the event range from $680 to $1,380. Click here for more information about the tickets.
Following on from previous years, the Digital Art Fair is divided into five sections. The Prestige Zone focuses on established artists, galleries, and institutions; the Immersive Zone invites visitors to experience innovative technology first-hand; on display at the Pioneer Zone are newcomers of the digital art scene in the run to be awarded the Pioneer prize; virtual reality is at the centre of the Virtual Zone; and all talks and workshops will be held at the Inspire Zone, revolving around this year’s theme, artificial intelligence. Check out the website for more information.
Guests can anticipate an impressive artwork selection ranging from virtual reality to renderings, animation, and photography. One of such works already announced is an immersive installation of Jonathan Jay Lee’s “Take Your Time,” commissioned by the Oriental Watch Company. The piece explores the intermingling of tradition and technology through multi-sensory immersion, and is a must-see for anyone interested in the crossover of multimedia and art. Stunning pieces from talented artists Botto, Claire Silver, David Ariew, and more are also displayed.
A total of 10 talks are set to be held during the event. Visitors can look forward to discussions with prominent experts on business and embracing technology, as well as talented individuals from the art and technology fields. Be prepared for exciting topics such as “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the Art World” and “Hong Kong: From Local to Global” as well as fireside chats. Check the website for the full programme.
Not only will VIP ticket holders get an exclusive first look at what the Digital Art Fair has in store, they are also invited to dress up as their favourite fictional character for an enchanting “Come As You Art” opening party on 20 October. Guests will enjoy a night of mesmerising art and DJ performances, and compete to win the Best Dressed Art prize. Click here for more information.
The most convenient way to visit the Digital Art Fair is by MTR. K11 Musea is just a 10-minute walk through the underground tunnels from Exit E of the Tsim Sha Tsui Station
on the Tsuen Wan line; or from Exit J of the East Tsim Sha Tsui Station on the Tuen Ma line. For those located on Hong Kong Island who prefer the scenic route, hop on the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier and walk for about 15 minutes via the Avenue of Stars. Alternatively, for guests arriving by car, complimentary parking is offered at K11 Musea’s car park.
