Calling all Potterheads—get ready for a magical experience! After successful stops in New York, Paris, and Barcelona, the “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” tour is coming to East Asia. Read on for what to expect when you delve into the fantastical world of Harry Potter this Christmas!
Using top-of-the line technology, the immersive exhibition brings the pages and scenes of the Wizarding World franchise to life with themed zones dedicated to Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The different themed zones allow visitors to immerse themselves in the fantastical worlds that they know and love from the Harry Potter universe. On display at the “From Page to Screen Gallery” is a first-edition Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone sealed in a replica Gringotts Wizarding Bank vault, alongside movie clips and stills recalling key moments of the first opus. It’s guaranteed to bring back childhood memories!
The “Hogwarts Castle Gallery” zone takes Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as inspiration, featuring the iconic Whomping Willow that swept Harry, Ron, and Hermione off their feet, creeping dementors, and an interactive Marauder’s Map that lets visitors experience the thrill of sneaking around the castle past curfew.
Step into the classrooms of Hogwarts, complete with props and magical creatures. Train to become a master brewer in Potions, predict the future in Divination, plant a mandrake in Herbology, and defeat Boggarts with a Riddikulus spell in Defence Against the Dark Arts.
It would not be a true Harry Potter experience without some friendly competition between the four Hogwarts houses. The Sorting Hat will not be picking your brains, but visitors can sort themselves into their chosen house when purchasing a ticket—sounds like it’s time to take a Pottermore quiz for accurate sorting! Upon entry, guests will receive an interactive wristband, keeping record of their visit in a digital file to look back on their experience.
Sure enough, no Hogwarts campus is complete without a certain tabooed forest and the humble abode of a half-giant. After a long day of classes, visitors can make their way to The Forbidden Forest to seek out fantastical creatures before winding down at Hagrid’s Hut.
On your way out, remember to stop by the souvenir shop and pick up a few trinkets to commemorate your visit. From exclusive collectibles to chocolate frogs, clothing, jewellery, and butterbeer, there’s bound to be something for every wizard and Muggle you know!
“Harry Potter: The Exhibition” will open at The Londoner Macao on 15 December. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here. Accio tickets!
