Is the Hong Kong heat getting in the way of your party plans? Not anymore—thanks to Pacific Place’s upcoming collaboration with the exuberant doodle artist Hattie Stewart, you won’t need to go all the way to the Central Harbourfront to partake in the festival frenzy of the summer. Gathering the London-based artist’s most iconic characters in one place, the vibrant “Summer Vibes” pop-up exhibition will leave you walking away with good memories, unique selfies, and a bag-load of exclusive merchandise.

Hattie Stewart joins a long list of artists taking over our city malls. The success of the art pop-up concept has spread all over Hong Kong, combining our love for shopping with an opportunity for great cultural content. If you enjoyed Cracking Art’s display of animal sculptures in Harbour City earlier this year, or TeamLab’s “Sketchtown” digital experience in IFC, you can’t miss out on this immersive installation running from 3 to 22 August.

Stewart’s art is recognisable for its bold and playful style. Famous for doodling over celebrity magazine covers, the London-based creator now brings her heart-, flower-, and animal-shaped creations to life with travelling exhibitions from Beijing to Seoul. She recently took over the Lotte Department Store in South Korea’s capital city. With this new collaboration, Pacific Place is taking us deeper into Stewart’s world than ever before.

Once you’ve arrived at Pacific Place, climb up a few floors to get a full view of the winking cherry and sunflower characters. Get closer to take your turn at the selfie booth, which lets you doodle all over your friends’ faces. Finally, enter the mirror room and be amazed as flashing lights and giant inflatables welcome you to the atmosphere of a 2000s party!

Stewart’s experimental and whimsical art speaks to the young and cheeky souls inside of us, and the “Summer Vibes” experience perfectly captures the frenetic energy of those who are intimately familiar with the fast pace of Hong Kong’s lifestyle. Best of all, the fun doesn’t end at the exhibition—you can bring a piece of that playful vibe home with exclusive mugs, tote bags, t-shirts, key rings, and stickers from the event’s pop-up store. Enjoy a doodle-shaped ice cream sandwich if all the dancing has left you in need of a snack!

Stay tuned to Pacific Place’s social media accounts to find out how to sign up for the shows, and what other performers are scheduled as we get inch to the event’s date. Will we see you vibing at the “Summer Vibes” festival?
