The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is making its big comeback! After a five-year hiatus, the popular gourmet festival will return to the Central Harbourfront Event Space from 26 to 29 October. Read on to find out more about this four-day feast.
Visitors will arrive to find over 300 booths lined up at the Central Harbourfront Event Space, offering quality wines, spirits, and world-class gourmet cuisine. Organisers have gathered a selection of fine wines from 36 countries. Internationally renowned labels stand alongside award-winning bottles as well as lesser-known regional ones, with highlights such as Moldovan wines, New Latitude wines from Thailand, and the world’s first soy wine produced with soya bean curd whey from Singapore.
After getting a taste of staple domaines, curious visitors are invited to delve further into the wine journey by exploring the latest trends, including Shandong, Ningxia, and Yunnan wines brought to fame for being additive-free and low-alcohol pours. With such a diverse selection, connoisseurs can browse and taste to their hearts’ content, and bring home exceptional bottles at affordable prices!
The food selection is a direct reflection of the diverse range of cuisines we are used to finding in Hong Kong. Visitors can sample across delicacies from 17 countries and regions, including familiar foods such as Japanese barbecue, Argentinian grill, Ibérico ham, and malai chicken tikka; local favourites such as typhoon-shelter fried potatoes and charcoal-grilled deep-fried tofu; regional delicacies such as Shunde pork knuckles, fish trios, and skewers; and sweet treats such as gelato and lava egg tart with tapioca bubbles to round off the culinary adventures.
With hours spent wining and dining, festival-goers can also enjoy a backdrop of vibrant live music performances near the main stage. Food and drinks enthusiasts can head over to the Tasting Theatre where a wide range of interactive experiences and workshops are on offer. From cooking masterclasses led by experienced chefs and bakers to wine pairing classes conducted by award-winning bartenders, family-friendly baking sessions, and innovative tasting classes, there is plenty of drinks and food for thought at the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival this year!
Expanding the festival experience, the Hong Kong Tourism Board is hosting the popular “Taste Around Town” once again. For one month this November, the event hopes to bring gourmet experiences beyond the festival. Highlights of this year’s programme include the “Hong Kong Bar Show,” where 60 Hong Kong bars will feature locally inspired cocktails paired with locally sourced bar bites; the “Chinese Master Chefs’ Curation” series which spotlights culinary excellence in a variety of Chinese restaurants; the “Chill EAT—Everything About Taste,” which showcases new talents, sustainable, and immersive dining experiences; and “Sip and Savour in LKF” which takes patrons on a unique all-day tasting journey around the lively neighbourhood.
