If the thought of hiking in the sweltering Hong Kong heat is too much to handle, then you might want to consider taking a scenic night hike instead. There is nothing quite like taking a leisurely night-time stroll to break up the working week, and these Hong Kong Island routes all take between one to three hours to complete. Check out some of our favourite Hong Kong Island night hikes in the hope of inspiring some after-dark exploring around the 852. Let’s get trekking!
The distance is about 10 kilometres with an elevation of 600 metres. Hiking from Quarry Bay to Tin Hau takes between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on how hot and humid it is.
The distance is about 6.5 kilometres with an elevation of 550 metres (and about 1,800 steps!) to Parkview. This hike takes us between 1.5 and two hours depending on the heat and humidity. You can extend this hike to Violet Hill and the Twins, or you could walk downhill to Wong Nai Chung Gap Road and Bowen Road.
Walking from Wan Chai via the Peak to the Central Ferry Piers is a stretch of about 13 to 14 kilometres long. It takes us between 3 to 4 hours to complete. The elevation is around 1,000 metres.
This is an exciting hike to do at night time. It is about 10 kilometres long and takes between two to 2.5 hours to complete. The elevation is about 500 metres.
