Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, 12 May, this year, and though we ought to be showing gratitude to our mums and showering them with love every day of the year, the annual opportunity to treat mother dearest to a lovely meal is as best a place to start as any. Here are some of the best festive menus in Hong Kong for Mother’s Day 2024.
On 11 and 12 May, Aqua will be serving a special weekend brunch inclusive of a seafood platter, signature Italian and Japanese main courses, and dessert platter. You can choose to add on free-flow champagne as well. For a nighttime alternative, Aqua’s Mother’s Day six-course dinner menu includes more seasonal dishes such as pink prawns and strawberries tartare. Find out more here.
Hutong will have both a brunch and a dinner menu available on Mother’s Day. Its Feng Wei brunch is served on 11 and 12 May, with two hours of unlimited dim sum and drinks! Live entertainment will be present on both days. Alternatively, the Mother’s Day six-course dinner menu, served from Friday till Sunday, also includes dim sum and main courses such as the Wagyu beef cheek and the Spanish red prawn poached in lobster broth. For a hearty meal, Lucciola’s Mother’s Day dinner menu is a safe bet. It includes the Italian restaurant’s iconic dishes—think roast Hokkaido scallop with Jerusalem artichoke, Mediterranean sea bream fillet, and the mouthwatering seven-year aged Carnaroli risotto with pesto, burrato, pistachio, and Amalfi lemon. Pirata Group has plenty of exciting Mother’s Day brunch and dinner menus across all of its restaurants. For a destination Mother’s Day celebration, however, why not take your mum to the seaside Pane et Latte in Stanley? You can choose to enjoy a pastry and a drink; the indulgent Peach Melba bomboloni is the perfect combination of fruity and sweet. For at-home celebrations, it’s hard to beat The Cakery’s mostly-pink Mother’s Day floral collection. The Love You Mum dairy-free cake is a traditional-looking strawberry cotton cake with elegant roses and a heart. Meanwhile, the impressive Intricate Love cake is a standing heart-shaped creation covered in piped frosted flowers, with flexible cake base flavours available. Finds is the Nordic restaurant at The Luxe Manor, and it is partnering with beauty brand Lightmac for a Mother’s Day Nordic weekend brunch. On the menu, guests will find unlimited appetisers and a choice of mains between the lightly smoked chicken supreme and the pan-fried seabass fillet. A special dessert and a cocktail were created for the occasion: the Butterfly Pea Tea panna cotta, and the vodka-based Queen Violet, both in Lightmac’s signature purple. Mothers will receive a voucher for a massage treatment, as well as Lightmac’s Derma Elements B5 Extract Essence.

Café 103 at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is celebrating Mother’s Day and the arrival of spring with its fish-maw themed buffet, available from 2 May till 30 June. Known for its health properties, the ingredient can be enjoyed in five variations such as the braised fish maw with imitation shark’s fin soup, the claypot steamed fish maw, braised with chicken and spicy sauce, wok-fried with assorted mushrooms and Lao Gan Ma sauce, and braised with Japanese conpoy and vegetables. For at-home celebrations, Relish can cater three different sets for Mother’s Day, including the spring picnic, a high tea, and most excitingly, the breakfast in bed set. The morning set comes with pastries (croissant, raisin swirl, apple swirl), bacon and egg pie topped with tomato chilli jam, two fruit skewers, one chia seed, coconut, and blueberry pudding, as well as one pot of Greek yoghurt, muesli, and fresh strawberry! Morton’s The Steakhouse is upgrading its Special Occasion menu in time for Mother’s Day! For Mother’s Day, you can now order the menu to share for four people instead of two, making for a family-friendly affair. You can enjoy the lobster ravioli, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and chopped house salad as appetisers, or upgrade to an ocean seafood platter. For the main course, you can choose either the baked fresh whole Maine lobster, a 36-ounce porterhouse steak, or the 36-ounce tomahawk served with tender bone marrow, Parmesan truffle fries, and cream spinach. With a hot chocolate cake for dessert, the celebration will leave you feeling full and content. Remember to book the Special Occasions menu in advance!

Hue, the Australian restaurant located in the Hong Kong Museum of Art, is hosting a jazz brunch and a four-course Mother’s Day dinner menu on Sunday, 12 May, and all mothers present will receive a complimentary de-stress muscle bath and shower oil from Aromatherapy Association. The brunch menu includes sharing appetisers, such as arancini risotto balls with blue lobster, sea urchin and zesty lime gel, Ibérico ham with Comté and truffle on toast, and lamb rib, among others. Main courses range from tortellini with scallop and tiger prawn filling to celeriac Wellington, pork belly, and smoked Wagyu brisket. Bathers is a seaside restaurant located on the picturesque Lower Cheung Sha beach. On 12 May, Bathers will serve a three-course Mother’s Day brunch, with a kids’ menu available if you’re heading over with family. The Mother’s Day menu includes fresh appetisers such as the salmon and avocado salad or the bruschetta caponata among others. If you and your mum are not available to celebrate the occasion on actual Mother’s Day, note that Nam Fong at Le Méridien is serving its Mother’s Day eight-course degustation menu from 1 till 12 May, giving you plenty of time to get together. Available for lunch and dinner, the special menu’s highlights are braised prawn with chicken sauce and Inaniwa udon, steamed giant grouper with back garlic, and braised abalone and fish maw with Yunnan ham sauce. For Mother’s Day, French restaurant LPM went down the nostalgic route and crafted a special riz au lait à la rhubarbe. A childhood favourite, the vanilla-flavoured rice pudding with rhubarb compote inside pays homage to maternal love and family memories, and is made for sharing with your party.

For the mum who enjoys the finer things in life, why not take her to Amber for a meal to remember? Richard Ekkebus’s distinguished restaurant will offer a Mother’s Day weekend menu for lunch and dinner, with items such as foie gras with Brussels sprout, black garlic, and aged black vinegar, and milk-fed lamb with za’atar. Meanwhile, Somm is giving mums a reason to celebrate with a free-flow brunch on Mother’s Day weekend, which comes with starters, bread baskets, a main course and dessert, plus a 90-minute free-flow of white and red wines, sake, wine-based cocktails, and fresh juices. Special Mother’s Day lunch and dinner menus are available at Chinesology until 12 May. Both artful ensembles feed a minimum of four people, with the lunch comprising a dim sum trio, rice rolls filled with lobster and sea salt, a free-range chicken course presented as a reimagining of a Chinesology classic, and plenty of sides to go around.
For dinner, spoil your mum with Chinesology’s 10-course Mother’s Day dinner menu. Highlights include the chilled cuttlefish and beetroot appetiser plated as an elegant floral arrangement; the fish maw soup with chuan bei, aged tangerine, and crocodile meat; the goose wing with supreme soya, and the lobster with egg white custard and young coconut.
