Popular cartoon character Mr Shark is making its debut at Hong Kong’s MOSTown to support a green cause! From now till the end of August, Mr Shark is hosting “The Most Green Fin-est Summer Eco-Camp” at MOSTown in Ma On Shan to raise awareness of and highlight the importance of marine conservation. From inflatable installations to interactive activities, read on to see what awaits you in this fun and pedagogic exhibition!
Visitors are greeted by a nearly four-metre-tall inflatable installation of Mr Shark on the Level 2 Atrium, with a seven-metre marine slide with a ball pit for you to dive into the fun. To get your adrenaline pumping, daring adventurers can look forward to a jaw-dropping 10-metre-long zipline where you can fly over a shark-infested sea! In collaboration with A Plastic Ocean Foundation, the sharks are made from recycled plastic bottles to call attention to the importance of waste reduction and ocean pollution.
For curious kids and grown-ups interested in marine life, there are 10 local coral species on display at the Activity Zone on Level 3. Being the only local coral restoration research team in Hong Kong, Coral Academy has carefully curated this selection of corals, allowing visitors the rare opportunity to look at these species under a microscope, sensitising participants to the conservation of our unique local sea life.
If you would like to get hands-on, you can even join an entertaining STEM DIY workshop where you can create your own kinetic boat. Complete even more tasks along the way to stand a chance to receive a certificate upon completion and a discount coupon.
Catch Mr Shark and his friends at multiple check points including “The Fin-est Beach” and “Mr Shark’s Coolest Checkpoint” for jaw-some pictures! You can also go against the cartoon character in “The Flashy Toothy Bucket” sandcastle contest or at the “Sharky Spikes” beach volleyball battle. Please note that to participate in most activities, you will need to be an H Coin Rewards member and fulfil specific same-day spending conditions.
