Update: Dragonfly is officially now open – and it's amazing!
This just in – a brand new bohemian-style cocktail lounge, designed by Ashley Sutton, is due to open in late August in Tai Kwun, and we couldn't be more excited for the theme –
dragonflies!

Aptly named
Dragonfly, the bar aims to transport guests back to the late 19th
century with a style and feel reflective of the Art Nouveau era, serving an eclectic selection of creative cocktail creations accompanied by soft-mood lounge music.
A little birdie
(or is it insect?) tells us that the interior is just as magical as Sutton's previous ventures, Ophelia, The Iron Fairies, and Dear Lilly, and we wouldn't expect anything less from the Aussie mastermind.
The interior is said to be inspired by the aesthetics of American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, with turquoise glass lamps featuring yellow dragonflies embellishing the ceiling of the lounge, and a patterned mosaic decorating the floor and table tops. Meanwhile, over 500 cast iron dragonflies adorn the bar area and the walls of the space – we're SOLD!
Best of all, the outdoor area of the bar spreads into one of Tai Kwun’s stone-paved passageways, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the history of their surroundings while enjoying the live band. Can this get any better? Apparently so.
The creative cocktail menu will feature intriguing signatures fueled with inspirations from around the globe and presented in re-purposed items like a
Tetsubin Japanese-style cast iron teapot – one for the gram! The bar programme also includes a curated selection of Old and New World wines as well as a diverse range of gins, whiskies, and rum to keep guests happy.
Well, we don't know about you, but we think a little history trip is in order!
