Play is a very important part of children’s early developmental stage, and plays a key role in how they learn and develop skills. It sets them up for success in their later years by helping them process language, emotions, social skills, and even creativity. It’s for this very reason that many early education centres develop their curricula around play, and the all-new Casita programme at Casita uses an internationally acclaimed Zumbini® (think of it as Zumba for babies!) with their well-loved Play Oriented Discovery Sessions to create one holistic experience for children and their families.
The Casita programme uses developmentally appropriate music, movement and activities, to allow children to enhance their creativity through music, dance, and child-led meaningful play. Intrigued? Read on!
Zumbini encompasses high energy music coupled with developmentally appropriate movements created by Zumba® Fitness for kids up to four years old. It provides a great opportunity for children to be exposed to music and all of its benefits through dancing, playing, and singing—it is both a physical experience, as much as it is educational. Not only is it filled with energy, fun, and play, but it also provides a unique bonding experience between children and caregivers, whilst making every moment a musical opportunity.
Play Oriented Discovery Sessions provide children with the opportunity to work alongside each other and engage with their environment through the invitation to play, explore, and discover. Children are encouraged to interact with others through sensory exploration, heuristic play, arts and crafts, and STEM activities.
Each class can run between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the age group, and incorporates a number of the above methods to engage with the children. If you are looking for something a little more collaborative, Casita’s 90-minute Wunderspace Workshop is recommended for children aged two years old and up to promote skill-building through independent and parallel play.
Now you know the basics, it’s time for the good stuff! Casita is offering parents an early-bird discount of up to 20 percent to all applications between 1 and 15 September—that’s as much as $900 off a 10-week programme! What’s more, there’s no minimum requirement for classes, and you are welcome to book a trial before signing up for a term. But you better hurry! After 15 September, the discount drops to 15 percent for the rest of the month!
