The titans of the art world may be converging on Hong Kong in March, but that doesn’t mean the city lies dormant in the weeks after, as the
Affordable Art Fair is set to return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 19.

Representing over 1,000 artists, from 120 galleries, the 2019 instalment will reflect the fair's ethos of "art for all", showcasing affordable pieces ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. A new feature this year is the People’s Choice Award, which invites visitors to choose their favourite piece of exhibiting artwork, before rewarding the winning artist with $5,000 to help them produce their next piece.
An immersive experience centre, The Creative Hub, will also play host to a variety of mental wellness workshops and experiences, ranging from virtual reality painting to blackout poetry and mindful colouring classes. With an aim to create welcoming spaces and encourage dialogue about the arts, the Sofa Sessions series will invite visitors to discuss the possible ways of integrating art into daily life, while Art Loop’s tours for children will be keeping little ones entertained once again.
