Mumbai is not just a city, it’s an emotion. More than anything, it can give you a taste of the good life, if you only look for it. From an authentic Japanese meal to a spectacular Italian spread, Mumbai’s restaurants can wow you with their ambience, presentations, and flavours. Wasabi by Morimoto

The moment you step into The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, you'll find yourself lost for words as the grandeur envelopes you. You will have a first-row seat to the becoming view of The Gateway of India—as you get introduced to a decadent Japanese spread. Renowned Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto can wow you with his contemporary Japanese delicacies. How you may ask? To keep the flavours true to their origin, he brings the ingredients directly from Japan into the maximum city—whether it is the wasabi or the seafood. Our pick—the decadent white fish carpaccio. Saké is the poison of the hour while you dine at this Nobu-style restaurant—their collection is sure to leave you lightheaded in a good way.

The Lovefools

Some restaurants are like hidden heirlooms—the day you discover them is cause for celebration. This is what your experience at The Lovefools is likely to be like. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience you’d like to savour time and again. While they call themselves a dinner lab, you will find them serving eight-course meals simmering with the choicest flavours at a candle-lit table, set in an old-world charm. You can either choose to meet like-minded people by dining on the community table or to enjoy an intimate meal with your friends or family. The Lovefools is a pretty little secret, offering a personalised experience with a speakeasy kind of feel to it. When you book a table at the restaurant, you have to first fill a questionnaire. When you arrive, you will be served with all the things you love, in a specially curated global menu that compliments your palate.

The Table

Bringing the farm to your plate, The Table reinforces the philosophy of clean eating. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients as you dig into the avocado toast or the spicy Norwegian salmon tartare. The iconic restaurant introduced Mumbai to the idea of small plates and large plates. From then, the culinary landscape of the city changed remarkably. The cuisine is global and accentuates the flavours that can make your mouth water, handpicked from different countries such as America, China, Thailand, Japan, and Italy, to name a few. Thus bringing the world to you under one roof.

Masque

When you step into the interiors of Masque, you're sure to get a whiff of India’s aromatic past. The restaurant is a celebration of legendary Indian cuisine juxtaposed with modern techniques. It’s the first-of-its-kind in India, one that stirred up a conversation by curating a 10-course tasting menu. And from then on, there was no looking back. Masque has redefined luxury dining in more ways than one. This is where menus change with the seasons, the choice of local produce available at the time, and also with inputs from farmers themselves. Sustainable dining options may have cropped up all over the Indian subcontinent in the recent past, but Masque has led this change with the taste of pure luxury.

Masque, Unit G3, Shree Laxmi Woollen Mills, Shakti Mills Lane, Off, Dr E Moses Rd, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400011, India | (+91) 98190 69222
