Bait

When it comes to a romantic evening, it’s a great idea to “heat things up” with none other than oysters, and one of the best spots for oysters is Bait. Bait made a name for itself with its fresh selection of oysters, offering varieties such as the Tragheanna Bay (RM11 each) and Gallagher (RM22 each). Besides oysters, you should also try their squid ink pasta (RM49) and glazed duck confit (RM45)—your date will surely “take the bait” with these selections! Plus, Bait is fortuitously located along Jalan Telawi of Bangsar, providing a great opportunity to go bar-hopping with your partner to end the night.

The Tokyo Restaurant

If your partner is into classy vibes and Japanese food, this will hit the sweet spot. The Tokyo Restaurant serves some of the best Japanese fusion meals in KL, paired with an eclectic and modern touch. If you’re unsure what will “wow” your partner’s palate, here’s our recommendation. For the appetiser, try the barbecued supreme king prawn (RM35). For the main course, the signature grilled lamb chop with Saikyo miso (RM 55) is highly popular and can be shared between two, as it comes with two pieces of grilled lamb chop and a side of sambal sauce. When you’re done with dinner, continue the night’s romantic endeavour with drinks at the restaurant’s in-house bar. Do ask the bartenders for cocktail suggestions based on your mood that night!

Wild Flowers Restaurant & Bar

If your special someone prefers a modest set-up without sacrificing good food and experience, this restaurant is the place to be. With a minimalist theme, Wild Flowers Restaurant & Bar is still romantic enough to be special due to its unique fusion menu. Start your romantic evening with a signature appetiser, the Assam unagi (RM32). Served in bite-sized pieces, the unagi carries a tang of tamarind. Afterwards, dig into one of our favourites on the menu, the double chicken (RM38)—this main dish is great for sharing if you’d like to leave room for dessert or drinks later on. With an extensive menu of finishers, your partner will be spoilt for choice!

Atmosphere 360

Bring your romance up a notch by dining 276 metres above sea level! Located inside the famous Kuala Lumpur Tower itself, Atmosphere 360 commands the highest view of the city. It is also called the “revolving restaurant” as it actually spins, albeit at a slow space—it takes a little over an hour to complete a full circle, so be sure to take your time to enjoy your dinner so that you’ll be able to take the entirety of KL’s beautiful skyline.

Besides the breathtaking view, their buffet spread is equally gorgeous. Although there isn’t a specific cuisine represented on the menu, the selection includes a variety of Western and local favourites. If you plan to make the meal more special, you can ask the staff to custom decorate the table for you in advance for an extra cost (RM250). You can also add in a bouquet of a dozen roses (RM200) to surprise your loved one!

Dining in the Dark

If your partner loves surprises, you must try this dining experience at least once. As the name has it, Dining in the Dark is a concept that revolves around having your meal in pitch-black conditions. You’ll be led into a dark room, where a surprise menu (RM160.10 per person) awaits. However, you can’t see and won’t know what you’re having until it’s in your mouth—isn’t that just thrilling and exciting? Without sight as a distraction (especially since you cannot see your phones), you’ll be able to engage your dining partner in deeper and more meaningful conversation. It will be an exclusive and intimate experience that you’ll reminisce about for years to come!
