Hong Kong is no stranger to art fairs and exhibitions. From Art Basel to Fine Art Asia, our beloved city has long been an international hub for artists and their works. With Covid-19 restrictions easing in the city, Art Central is returning to Hong Kong from 22 to 25 March and will open at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for its 2023 edition!
Held during Hong Kong Art Week, the eighth edition of Art Central showcases up-and-coming talent from Asia’s most daring galleries together with internationally distinguished artists. With this latest edition, Art Central is looking forward to reconnecting Hong Kong with the rest of the art world in a multicultural appreciation of art. 70 international galleries will be participating in the 2023 edition of the show, from cities such as New York, Tokyo, Madrid, Johannesburg, Busan, and more. Hong Kong galleries will also be present.
Hong Kong-based independent curator Chris Wan joins Art Central this year as a curatorial advisor to present a showcase of immersive art installations. Alongside the fair, Art Central is also partnering with the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre to bring visitors and art lovers a series of educational talks, performances, and multimedia art.
Art Central is one of the many international art fairs that have returned to Hong Kong after the Covid-19 pandemic. Following the establishment of the West Kowloon Cultural District and the reveal of construction plans for its East Kowloon counterpart, the global art world has its eyes on the city as a growing art and cultural hub, and international showcases such as Art Central proves the position of Hong Kong in the art world.
Early-bird tickets are now available for purchase on the Art Central website.
