Feeling tired of and slightly irritated by the fast-paced speed of Hong Kong city life? Spend a day or two hiking, firing up the barbecue, and immersing yourself in the natural splendours that Hong Kong has to offer. Camping is one alternative to soothe your soul, but sometimes it can be a hassle to set up a tent and pack everything you need for a night or two out in nature.

If you are not looking to organise all that gear, glamping is the perfect alternative. All over Hong Kong, companies offer unique and different styles of tents for your enjoyment. From bubble tents and safari tents to tipi tents, the city has got you spoilt with a multitude of choices. Here is our guide to the best glamping experiences in Hong Kong.

Park Nature Hillside

Nestled in the scenic village of Lin Ma Hang, Park Nature Hillside offers an out-of-this-world camping experience for those who still enjoy their comfort and all things celestial. Putting the “glam” in glamping, the caravans come with premium amenities, such as air-conditioning, refrigerators, kitchenware, projection screens, barbecue grills, and even an automatic mahjong table for rental. Its biggest draw, however, has to be the space-themed capsules. With sleek exteriors resembling spaceships, the pods offer panoramic roofs that transport you to a star-studded galaxy. There are also huts with planetary themes, as well as pet-friendly caravans, for more types of futuristic adventures!

Accommodation aside, daytime activities are just as enticing, with loads of outdoor fun to be had on-site, like basketball, cycling, and trampolines.

Choose from one of five uniquely-themed options: the Japanese retro hut, tunnel tent, Nordic elves’ home, geodesic tent, or the Nordic giant’s abode, which immerses guests into distinct fables and fairytales whilst surrounded by nature! With essential amenities like portable air conditioners, gas stoves, and public bathrooms, those who seek a communal camping experience will feel right at home.

Galaxy Garden

The secluded southern coastline of Lantau Island is often hailed as a top-tier getaway destination for the city’s residents, but if you’re looking to properly unplug from the hyper-stimulated world and immerse yourself in nature’s tranquil surroundings, then Galaxy Garden is your answer. Located just a stone’s throw away from Pui O Beach, this garden-bound paradise provides semi-translucent bubble tents and fully transparent safari-style tents for guests to lay their heads to rest underneath the starry night sky. The glamping set-up is on the minimalistic side, conducive to spending quality time in nature, but in case you’re one to get restless easily, entertainment facilities like barbecue grills, trampolines, jacuzzis, and animal playpens are aplenty around the campsite.
