There are many ways to enjoy the festive season, whether it is an intimate staycation with the family or an indulgent dining experience—The Murray has got something for everyone.
Book a stay at the gorgeous heritage hotel, which is offering two seasonal getaway packages for restless holidaymakers. The Murray Merry December package (starting from $2,800) is available from 1 to 23 December 2020, and includes daily breakfast for two, a festive afternoon tea set at the Garden Lounge that comes with a bottle of Prosecco, plus coffee and tea and early evening canapés at Murray Lane.
Once we step into the actual holiday dates, the Murray Festive Escapade package (starting from $4,888) has got you covered. Available from 24 December 2020 to 3 January 2021, the package is perfect for celebratory occasions—start with breakfast for two, then spend your $2,000 dining credit (included in the price of the room) at Popinjays, Garden Lounge, The Tai Pan, or Murray Lane.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon sampling treats from the festive afternoon tea set, which features delicate bites such as saffron lobster salad, melted leek and black truffle tartlet with brie, and gingerbread-candied orange scone, washed down with flutes of complimentary Prosecco. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are also available at Murray Lane during the afternoon, as well as early evening canapés from 5.30 pm to 8 pm.
The festive afternoon tea set is available from 30 November 2020 to 5 January 2021, priced at $698 for two persons, and can be enjoyed at either the Garden Lounge or on the Popinjays rooftop terrace. If you wish to enjoy the experience with your furry friends, jump for joy as a festive update of Paws For Tea will be available on 20 December 2020 at The Arches, at $480 per person.
Dig into Christmas favourites at a festive brunch at The Tai Pan and Garden Lounge, available on 19, 20, 25 to 27, 31 December 2020, and 1 January 2021. Enjoy selections from the carvery, salad, and seafood sections, plus mains like roasted turkey roulade with chestnut and sage stuffing and cranberry sauce and poached organic eggs with Maine lobster served with Maltaise sauce. There is also a gingerbread decorating station, ornament making station, live Christmas carolling, and appearances by good ol’ Saint Nick. The Murray festive brunch is available at $698 per adult and $348 per child on 19, 20 December 2020, and 1 January 2020, and $798 per adult and $398 per child from 25 to 27 December 2020.
If Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, then Christmas dinner is the most wonderful time of that time of the year. At The Murray, you have two options for the perfect festive family meal. Popinjays is offering a five-course dinner menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with European classics such as langoustine mi-cuit, slow-cooked Dover sole, and roasted venison, priced at $1,288 for adults and $588 for children. At the Garden Lounge, enjoy seasonal holiday dishes such as sake-marinated codfish and prawns a la plancha as part of a four-course menu, available at $988 per adult and $298 per child.
Let’s not forget the end-of-year celebrations either—ring in the new year at Popinjays with a four- or five-course caviar-themed meal, priced at $1,388 and $1,888 per person respectively. Savour delicacies such as Gillardeau oyster with Baeri caviar and Dover sole with Oscietra caviar, then enjoy a line-up of live music performances from 9 pm till late. Alternatively, spend New Year’s Eve at The Tai Pan’s five-course Gala Dinner at $1,288 for adults and $644 for children, featuring artfully created dishes such as pistachio-crusted foie gras torchon and black truffle steamed wild turbot.
Get a holiday glow with the Holiday Pamper treatment—90 minutes of relaxation and rejuvenation, priced at $1,750. The treatment includes a hot stone back massage followed by a detoxifying full-body wrap, finishing with a head massage, and is available from 1 November to 31 December 2020.
