Calling all Disney fans—a new themed land is opening at Hong Kong Disneyland this November! Inspired by the hit animated film Frozen and its equally popular sequel Frozen 2, “World of Frozen” brings the fictional Arendelle to life. Whether you are visiting Hong Kong Disneyland for the first or tenth time, this new world and its attractions are definitely worth experiencing.
“World of Frozen” will be the eighth themed zone making up the magical kingdom that is Hong Kong Disneyland, alongside the bustling Main Street, USA; the whimsical Fantasyland; the slick and technological Tomorrowland; the thrilling and exotic Adventureland; the playful Toy Story Land; the strange yet alluring Mystic Point; and the gritty and Western Grizzly Gulch.
Visitors will enter a replica of Elsa and Anna’s home kingdom, complete with iconic spots from the movies that dedicated fans will immediately recognise. A main street featuring nineteenth-century European architecture welcomes you into this snowy kingdom. The Bay of Arendelle sits in the centre of the new zone, complete with a replica of the small fishing boat Anna fell into the first time she met Hans in the franchise’s debut movie.
Other noteworthy landmarks include the Friendship Fountain where Elsa fashions water into snowflake ornaments with a flick of her wrist, the Clock Tower where Anna once danced with Hans, Castle Arendelle, and—of course—Elsa’s Ice Palace. Come dressed in your royal best and pose along the whimsical streets of Arendelle! We won’t judge if you break into song and dance.
With a new zone come new attractions. Visitors can look forward to thrilling rides such as the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs that let you cruise around the North Mountain’s snowy top. Immersive story-telling experiences include Frozen Ever After, featuring Olaf, the beloved animated snowman, and Playhouse in the Woods, where visitors can get up close and personal with Anna and Elsa. It would not be a true “World of Frozen” without snow, and the park will seamlessly use technology to bring Summer Snow Days to visitors.
Refuelling in Arendelle happens at Golden Crocus Inn and Bayside Wharf! These two movie-accurate restaurants feature mouth-watering delicacies inspired by traditional Nordic grub. They are not to be missed for a truly immersive experience in the world of Frozen. Alternatively, Forest Fare offers quick bites perfect for enjoying between rides or while queuing up, while Northern Delights, the cherry on top of your whimsical journey, serves sweet treats.
It would not be a true Disneyland experience without browsing through themed souvenir stalls; guests can turn to Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles and Travelling Traders to bring a piece of Arendelle home!
“World of Frozen” is due to open on 20 November—just in time for the festive season. If, like us, you are already planning for things to do over the holiday, be sure to save a spot in your schedule for a visit to “World of Frozen.” Get ready to let it go and unleash your magical powers!
